Fifth International Composers' Festival "Winterreise"
Composers who have reached the age of 8 and beyond without age restriction are invited to participate in the competition.
The age of the contestants is determined on October 15, 2026
1. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION
* attracting the attention of the general public to chamber music as one of the most valuable phenomena of world musical culture;
* Strengthening international creative ties, creating conditions for creative exchange;
* support and promotion of the work of contemporary composers in the genre of chamber music;
* expanding the repertoire of chamber music performers

5. DATES AND VENUE OF THE COMPETITION
Dates: October 15 – November 1, 2026
Venue: ONLINE
6. AGE GROUPS
* 8-17 years old
* 18+
7. NOMINATIONS
* Modern academic music.
Chamber music composed for the following instruments/solo voices or any combination of them (up to 5 performers in an ensemble):
- Keyboards: piano, organ, harpsichord;
- Strings: violin, viola, cello, double bass;
- Wind instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn;
- Vocals: soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, baritone, bass;
- Folk instruments: bayan, accordion, guitar, psaltery.
* Electronic music.
Simultaneous use of acoustic and electronic instruments, computer sound recording is allowed.
The duration of each essay submitted to the competition is no more than 10 minutes.
8. PRIZES AND THE ORDER OF AWARDING THE WINNERS
According to the results of the competition, participants receive Diplomas of participants, diploma holders and laureates of the I, II and III degrees in each age category and nomination, with the appropriate titles of diploma holders and laureates of the international competition, and are awarded the following prizes:
* The main prize from the International Chamber Music Festival "Winterreise" is a Diploma of a special prize, performance of the work in the programs of the annual festival (Moscow, 2026-27), audio–video recording of the performance, posting the recording on the official YouTube channel, posting the score and recordings in the Web almanac on the competition website.
* Special prize from the advertising and information agency "AD GROUP ART" - publication in the online edition of AD GROUP ART
* A special prize for participants of the first age group is a Certificate for free participation in a master class by a member of the competition jury in the specialties of Composition, Instrumentation, and Improvisation.
All the compositions of the laureates of the competition will be performed by Moscow musicians, artists of symphonic ensembles, soloists of Moscow musical theaters, as well as laureates of the International Chamber Music Competition "Winterreise".
9. THE ORDER OF THE COMPETITION
The competition is conducted REMOTELY and consists of one round.
Applications are accepted until October 15, 2026.
The results of the competition will be announced on November 1, 2025.
The competition is conducted anonymously, and each score attached to the application for participation in the Competition is assigned an individual identification number.
The participation of one contestant in all nominations is allowed, provided that the submitted essays are different. At the same time, applications must be submitted separately for each work.
From among the submitted applications, the jury selects no more than 12 works from all nominations and age categories for the award.
The members of the jury reserve the right to award not all prizes, to divide the prizes, to establish additional Special Prizes.
The jury's decisions are final and are not subject to discussion or revision.
To apply for the competition, you must complete the Google Form attached to these terms by October 15, 2026.
Notification of the results of the competition will be sent to all authors by e-mail, indicated in the application, no later than November 3, 2026.
The winners of the competition will have to send the full set of voices of the work (in pdf format) to the performers no later than November 15, 2026.
10. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS. ENTRANCE FEE
The entrance fee is:
1 age group - 50 (fifty) euro
2 age group - 75 (seventy-five) euros
In case of participation in more than one nomination, the participant pays the second (and subsequent) contribution(s) in the amount of 50% of the amount of the first
In case of refusal to participate in the contest, the entry fee will not be refunded to the contestant.
Please take into account the possible transfer fee and make sure that the amount of funds transferred corresponds to the amount of the participation fee.
11. SPECIAL CONDITIONS
If the author wishes to attend a concert performance of his work, payment for travel to and from Moscow, accommodation and other expenses related to staying in Moscow, and visa costs is made at the expense of the participants' own funds or the funds of their sending organization.
The participants of the contest do not receive a fee for the performance of the composition in the competition, as well as for any further use of recordings and broadcasts of these performances.
The form signed by those who wish to participate in the competition is evidence of agreement with all of the above conditions.
